Welcome to the Argonaut Project
About the Argonaut Project
The Argonaut Project is a private sector initiative to advance industry adoption of modern, open interoperability standards. The purpose of the Argonaut Project is to rapidly develop a first-generation FHIR-based API and Core Data Services specification to enable expanded information sharing for electronic health records and other health information technology based on Internet standards and architectural patterns and styles. This effort follows on recommendations from the Joint HIT Standards and Policy Committee's JASON Task Force Report, the HIT Standards Committee’s NwHIN Power Team, the MITRE JASON Reports of 2013 and 2014, and the 2010 PCAST Report.
OAuth 2.0 profile for authorizing apps to access FHIR data (use cases 1-4).
The Argonaut Data Query Implementation Guide is based upon the core FHIR DSTU2 API and it documents:
- Security and Authorization
- Data element query of the ONC Common Clinical Data Set
- Document query of static documents
NOTE: See US Core Implementation Guide (CI Build) for the Draft FHIR STU3 API equivalent of Argonaut Data Query Implementation Guide.
The Argonaut project Provider Directory guide (Draft) is based upon the core FHIR STU3 API and contains the foundation for a robust provider directory. It describes the use cases and search expectations for finding a practitioner or organization. It outlines the key data elements for any provider directory and basic query guidance.
This project supports basic patient and provider access to a provider's calendar and appointment requests, including APIs and guidance for searching and publishing a providers schedule and requesting, cancelling or updating an appointment.
Leveraging the experience of the CDS hooks community to accelerate the maturation of CDS hooks for the industry, we will develop use cases, providing specific guidance and publish an implementation guide for deploying CDS hooks.
